Part I: Critical Issues in the Field of Advanced Process Monitoring, Data Management and Softsensor Applications
Focus will be laid on critical issues in context with advanced process monitoring and product characterization strategies. Important aspects related to data management concepts (data processing workflows) and software interface design will be discussed and finally we data driven softsensor applications are focused on.
Agenda:
- Critical aspects of on- and offline monitoring strategies for process- and product characterization
- Data management – data integrity: acquisition, preprocessing, reporting –standards, workflows and applications
- Softsensors and statistical modeling
Part II: Intensified DOE, Hybrid Modeling and Advanced Process Control
In this workshop model based and intensified dynamic DoE designs for process optimization and characterization will be discussed and data from CHO based processes will serve as example. In the topic of model predictive control of cell culture processes will be discussed.
Agenda:
- Hybrid modeling : Approach, key benefits and applications
- Intensified DoE- mbDoE for fast and efficient process characterization & process optimization
- Advanced process control: using models for online optimization
Co-Instructor Bios:
Gerald Striedner, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Biotechnology (BOKU), Principal Investigator, Austrian Center of Industrial Biotechnology (ACIB)
Associate Professor at the Department of Biotechnology (BOKU), head of the working group microbial fermentation and principal investigator in the Austrian Center of Industrial Biotechnology (ACIB). The working group has established an integrated systems approach for bioprocess development and is focused on the implementation of PAT and QbD concepts in bioprocessing and rational host cell design. CHO, E. coli, insect cells and vero cell lines are used as expression systems for production of a representative set of biopharmaceuticals (mABs, Fabs, scFvs, VLPs, viruses, DNA
Martin Mayer, Head, Business Development, evon GmbH
Head of business development at evon GmbH, Austria. Over 15 years background in data driven process analyses and model based closed loop control in industry. Member of steering committee of ISPE Workgroup for “IT Automation System Structure & Integration Standardization”. evon realized a number of integrated data management systems for research and development facilities – academinc as well as industrial environment - to enable efficient data driven process analyses, softsensor implementations and model predictive control applications.
